Map review competition winners announced

The winners of the NUMA map review competition have been announced here. Congratulations to the winners!

NUMA redesign competition winner announced!

The voting is over, and the winner is selected! Go here for all the details.

And though voting is closed, the map review competition is still open, so there's still a little time to get your reviews in and win NUMA t-shirts.

Another competition!

That's right, another competition. In short: Write a short blurb reviewing a map of your choice. The best 5 reviews win a NUMA t-shirt! Go here for details and to enter.

Voting is open!

Submissions are closed, and voting is open for the great NUMA redesign! I've been greatly impressed with the quality of the submissions - there's been a lot of very high quality submissions.

You can vote here. The voting system allows you to select first, second, and third choices, ensuring your vote will count even if your first choice isn't the winner. And no, picking the same design for all 3 choices will not improve its chances of winning.

NUMA Redesign: Now a contest!

In view of the enthusiastic response I've received asking for graphic designers, I've decided to turn it into a contest. Details of how to submit, rules and the prize are detailed here. Good luck!

Graphic artist needed

Are you a graphic artist? Do you love NUMA? Then we need you!
NUMA is up for an overhaul, and we need a graphic designer to update its look a bit. If you think you have what it takes, email numa@notdot.net with a sample of your work.
Compensation will be provided, though since NUMA is largely a labour of love, we can't afford to pay market rates.

Accounts disabled

The following accounts have been disabled for multiaccounting:
Holy_zebra, carrera, szygy_pwnd
remote, blucose, Reactorr
instinctmeister, Fatality101, God_Kami, Yoda_Master

If you have a problem with this, the address is numa@notdot.net.

kinglibai disabled for exploiting an XSS bug

User 'kinglibai' has been disabled for exploiting an XSS (Cross Site Scripting) vulnerability in NUMA, which has now been patched. Remember, if you find one, you need to report it to numa@notdot.net, _not_ exploit it. Thanks to users Hendor and Animator for reporting the bug.

NUMA voting glitch

Last night, some routine maintenance to NUMA inadvertently opened a glitch allowing people to vote multiple times on one map. Though the glitch was fixed relatively quickly, several people took the opportunity to abuse NUMA and rate maps multiple times. The worst offender by far was 'drikam', who submitted well over a thousand votes on a variety of maps, showing true dedication to stupidity and maliciousness. He has been banned.

'seven_two' and 'mr_pac' also abused the system to a lesser extent. They have been banned also, but can earn a re-enablement after 48 hours if they would care to post an apology to the NUMA community on the forums.

'Caz_0_o' and 'Be_Happy_:)' narrowly evaded a ban for minor abuses of the hole.

The offending votes have since been removed; NUMA should be back to normal. No lasting harm was done, but I'm disappointed that while several people gleefully exploited the issue, no-one reported it.
